15 Months

Emme turned 15 months on the 16th, but I waited until we had her well check to post. Actually, I have been crazy nuts busy at school & haven't had a moment until now anyway! Yesterday, Dr. P was very impressed with her development. She is right on schedule and even ahead in many areas. She got 3 immunizations & her flu shot. Poor bitty! She was a champ & only cried until I picked her up. Jackson got the FluMist, so he was a lucky duck!
Emme's stats: 23 lbs - 55%
30 in - 25%
Dr. P projects her adult height to be 5'5" or 5'6", just like her momma, but says it's all really a guessing game. She had taken a dip in weight a while back, so he said now she is playing catch up!

She wears a 12-15 mo in most things, but is starting to be able to wear 18 mo in a few things. Size 4 diaper.

Talking: Emme says mama, dada, Jackson, Yaya, cat, dog, hi, bye, thank you, more, & book

She can identify her hair, nose, eyes, belly and sometimes toes. She plays patty cake, blows kisses, claps, gives high fives, does the hand motions to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, uses her spoon if we scoop & will sometimes successfully stab food with her fork. She loves to put toys inside other containers and she also loves to read! She likes to dance and there are 2 dances she does: one where she twirls around in circles and one where she just rocks her head back & forth (see video below). Both are SO cute! She adores Jackson & wants to do whatever he is doing! It melts my heart to hear them laughing & playing together! I love it!

This one is a Daddy's Girl through & through! She squeals with delight when he comes home each evening. He gets the biggest kick out of it! She is just precious & makes us laugh (and sometimes cry) everyday! We could not be more blessed!

Saturday, we went with Gabby & PaPa to see the Houston Area Live Steamers. Basically, they are just scaled down steam & diesel trains that you can ride. It is donations only & you can ride as many times as you'd like. Jackson & PaPa both have a mutual love of trains, so this was a winner in their books! When we got there, I asked Jackson as we were walking up if he was ready to ride the steamers. He looked at me & said very matter-of-factly: "That's a diesel, Mommy!" How could I be so ridiculously stupid??? It cracked me up! We found out later that the steam engines only come out in the cooler months, so PaPa was dissapointed about that, but it was a different way to spend a Saturday & the kids both liked it.

Our ride

Take a look at PaPa's face - utter elation!
I know I'm going to get in trouble for posting this - Gabby does not like to be photographed!
Sorry, Gabby! PaPa was too funny!

There's that tongue again!
Sunday, we played outside until almost dark. Jackson loves playing tee ball & Aaron loves coaching him!

Emme tooled around in her car or on her ride on toy.
