I've got a funny feeling...

So Tuesday afternoon, on the way home from school, the kids and I are talking about their day just like we always do.  When I ask Jackson about his day, he says he got a new teacher, Ms. Susan.  Weird, because I don't know anything about her...so I continue probing him.  Come to find out she is a high school student that comes in during the afternoons as part of her Child Development class.  Cool.  Anyway, so I ask Jackson if he likes her.  He says Yes, she's berry, berry nice!  So I ask him if he likes Ms. Lanie and he surprises me by concentrating very hard and saying hmm, I don't know.  I've got a funny feeling about her.  I can't help but crack up laughing - where does he get this stuff, but I have to admit, I have had a funny feeling about Ms. Lanie since the school year started...

School Pictures

The kids' Spring school pictures.  The usual results...

Stoic.  Why will she not smile?  Ever?

Now that's more like it!

Expressionless again.  Really?  At least the Boogies smiled!

Countin' Tractors

Let the record show that Emme counted to 6 today all by herself and without skipping any number!  There is some major construction right infront of the kids' school and Emme pointed out a tractor (backhoe or excavator).  I said "there's one..."  and she did the rest.  There really were 6 "tractors" that we passed.

She'll be 22 months on Saturday.

And Just Because She's Cute...

A Fancy Saturday

Yesterday, we attended a very fancy party...Fancy Nancy, that is.  Our friends, Gabriel and Randi's little girl Gabbi turned 3 and Gabbi is very much a princess.  Fancy Nancy was the perfect theme for her!  We had such a good time at Inflatable Zone and man, wait til you see the cake!  Gabriel is our friend that makes all of Jackson & Emme's cakes, and he made a truly FANCY cake for his little girl!

The birthday girl in her cute Fancy Nancy outfit.

Gabriel, cake baker extrordinaire!

See what I mean???
Everything is edible except the feathers and butterflies.

It was bigger than Gabbi!

And he even does hair...what a dad!

King's Orchard

Last weekend, my mom & I took the kids to King's Orchard to pick strawberries.  Jackson LOVED it - thought he was a farmer!  Emme liked being there, but didn't like touching the strawberries.  Strange because she will touch them when she eats them.  I can't wait to go back when they have nectarines and blueberries!

Fun times!

Problemo

I am having many, many problems with Blogger.  Something happened and I lost my entire layout.  As I have started trying to fix it, I got a little carried away and wanted to change the font.  It has worked on some posts and not on others.  It's a bizaar situation.  So for now, it looks funkified!

Story Telling

This morning Jackson told Emme and me a story on the way to school. The blue is me questioning parts of the story.

This is a story about Emme. One day she was mowing with a vacuum cleaner. A vacuum cleaner? Yes, hers mowing with the vacuum cleaner in the back yard. And she had snakes and ladybugs on she*. Oh goodness, what happened when the snakes were on her (I emphasized)? She killed them by chopping them in half and then she went inside and cooked them and ate them. She ate snakes? It was cooked. (like that makes eating snakes ok??) Ewww...What did it taste like? Chicken. Emme, did you like you story?

Hmmm...don't know what to think about that one. Imaginative, yes. A bit creepy too. Funny boy! I love that kid - he sure makes life interesting!

Too Good To Be True?

Loopa or Gyro Bowl

Has anyone actually used one of these things? Or know someone that has? They look like an absolute dream come true, but I'm generally not a fan of buying things from TV. I will definitely make an exception if it is as good as it appears.

Weird.

On Saturday, Aaron saw a tiny spider crawling across the floor in the playroom. Before killing it, he told Jackson to come see it. They were both laying on their bellies looking at this teeny spider when all of a sudden Jackson leaned down and lapped the spider up. As in He.Ate.It! WTH? Aaron of course cracked up laughing, but I was less than thrilled. When I asked him why he did that he said "because their my favorite treats.". I think this is in reference to the Froggie books, but I'm not completely sure. He is such a weird kid sometimes!
