Better Late Than Never....

I am WAY late on Emme's 16 month post! Bad Mommy!

Emerson is at the best age! She is spunky, playful, silly, tough, curious and yet still loving & cuddly! Lately, her vocabulary has sky rocketed, but outsiders still have a hard time figuring out what she is saying sometimes. Nana says Jackson & Thank You sound the same to her, but I can tell a difference. Our neighbor said the same thing. She has about 20 words she uses on a regular basis, but she will resort to grunts from time to time if she sees it is still getting her what she wants. Emme still loves to be outside and take a bath. She loves to read and play with her baby doll or her animals. She will play trains or blocks with Jackson. She will even wrestle with Jackson and she gets the biggest kick out of it! They play so well together and it just warms my heart!

She is still quite the eater, but looking back at Jackson at this age, it isn't anything out of the ordinary. Emerson is the youngest & smallest in her class, but she can sure handle herself! I'm afraid she has inherited her Mommy's attitude. ;) Her teachers just crack up at how she already knows how to ignore someone. You can move around to get in her line of sight and she just looks the other way. It's too funny!

Emme still prefers her bed and is an excellent sleeper. We are still taking 2 naps a day - one at school from noon to 2pm and one at home from 4:45ish until 6ish. Sometimes she will sleep up until dinner and we will wake her up, she will eat, take a bath, read books and then go right back to bed. She gets this from me also - I LOVE to sleep!

She is currently wearing 12-18mo clothing. She does have some pjs that are 3-6 months that she can still fit in, lol! Yaya just recently outfitted her with a new fall wardrobe - thanks Yaya! She is wearing a size 4 or 5 shoe, depending on the brand.

She has 12 teeth. We are just missing the canines and of course, the second molars. Emme's laugh is the absolute best sound - I could listen to it all day, every day!
REFUSING to smile. :( This is why she wouldn't smile -
I had taken her milkshake away to ge the picture.

Halloween 2010

Jackson & Emme's school had their annual fall festival on Friday. It is always so cute! There is a costume parade and then your typical fall festival games (cookie walks, ring toss, etc.). I LOVE, LOVE the costume parade every year! This year Jackson was a dinosaur and Emme was a cupcake. My mom & I made Emme's costume and it's pretty darn cute if you ask me! Her costume was a hit - people, random people were coming up to us saying how cute she was, asking where we got the costume, telling us to make some & sell them - it was a hoot!
My cupcake!

My T-Rex!

Sunday (Halloween) was pretty laid back. We just hung out at home until Trick-or-Treat time. Then, we loaded the kids in the wagon and hit the streets! Our first stop is our neighbor, Ms. Karen's. She takes pictures of all of the kids on our street every year, so we couldn't miss her! Jackson was hysterical - at every house he would climb out of the wagon, knock on the door by himself, say Trick or Treat, hold his bag open, say Thank You and Happy Halloween!, then jump back in the wagon. He had it down! Emme watched big bro & caught on quickly. As most of you know (or can tell from reading), Emme is an eater, so this was a no-brainer! You go to a house, look cute, get candy and then go to the next house and they give you more candy - she was in H.E.A.V.E.N! We went to about 10 houses and then came home for a piece of candy each, baths & bed - we had a great time!
Ready to Treat!

Emme's costume engulfed her when she was sitting!

Love this one! Emme reaching for candy - classic!

And then it was time to go home!
