Pooped!

Yesterday was Day #1 of Part #1 of our move. We're all pooped, but the boys (Aaron & my dad) have already jumped on Day #2 of Part #1 of our move. Aaron's dad will join us after he gets off work. Bless his heart, he worked all day yesterday & then they drove the hour it takes to get from LaPorte to our house & he helped move until about 10:00pm last night. Today will be more of the same. Kudos to you Jimmy - what a dad, father-in-law, & Papa! Ann was insanely helpful too! She played with Jackson while we all packed &/or moved. He had slept most of the earlier part of the day & woke up just in time for them to get there. My mom & dad were amazing! My mom helped me pack boxes and my dad helped Aaron with the heavy lifting! What would we do without our WONDERFUL family?

We moved most of our stuff into a Pack Rat which, by the way, is the handiest thing. It is the same concept as a POD -- they deliver a container to your house. You have as long as you'd like to fill it & when you're ready, they come pick it up and take to their climate controlled warehouse until you need it again. We will have them deliver it to our new house and it's that easy! So we loaded most of our stuff into the Pack Rat, but it is now almost full, but there is still so much stuff in our house! We, I've decided, are the Pack Rats! And I purged a lot of stuff while packing, but obviously not enough. Aaron & I discussed last night the things we agree we can get rid of. We have a TON of electronics. I'll give you 3 guesses who is the one that collects electronics....you'll only need 1 guess, I bet. Everyone comments on how many sets of speakers we have. We don't even use half of them. Can you say "garage sale"?

We do have good news -- we get to close on our house on August 18th instead of September 9th! School starts again on August 25th, so I for one am happy we will be closed before then. I'm not sure we'll be completely moved in before school starts, but at least we'll have Labor Day to finish up. We will paint on the 19th & 20th and then have carpet laid on the 21st. My parents close on their new house on the 22nd and we promised we'd help them move after all their help with our moves. Actually - funny thing - everyone in my family is moving in month of August except for my Nana, but she has been instrumental in half the moves as she is our realtor & my parent's. We moved this weekend, my uncle (Clay) is moving into a house this Tuesday, my brother starts law school & is moving from Austin to San Antonio on the 9th, we move again on the 18th, and then my parents move on the 22nd. CRAZY! And to make matters crazier, Aaron will have lived in 5 places in a year's time.
