Our July 4th Weekend

Our 4th was very laid back.....With all the rain, our plans of attending the downtown fireworks display on the bayou were abandoned! I figured since the bayous were overflowing, sitting on the banks would be sort of soggy and the mosquitoes were probably the size of small horses! We the obligatory hotdog for lunch and then took naps. For dinner, we headed over to my parents' for some yummy BBQ ribs & chicken! Later that night we headed over to the race track to watch their fireworks display. It took forever to start, but was worth it in the end!

Pics from our day:

Jackson wasn't playing along!

J was all hyped up on tons of sugar & was SO sweaty!

Emme slept in the truck for about 20-30 minutes.

The bow came off to reveal cRAzY hair!

July 5th - We went to the beach, only to get home and hear that tar-balls had been found at Galveston. Luckily, we did not see any! The kids had a blast! Aaron & I are a little crispy, but not too bad. On the way home, we stopped at Gabby & PaPa's for a much needed shower & some homemade icecream ! We ate dinner at a new mexican restaurant that got mixed reviews and then came home!
Emme mad her milk is gone

On to water!

Fresh out of the ocean - the deeper we went, the tighter
he clutched Aaron. He LOVED every minute of it
and didn't want to play on land!

I took this pic of J making sandcastles AND
of the weirdo, shirtless, hairy chested man
in jeans & boots

Aaron's sunburn includes a Jackson print!

I hope everyone had a fabulous 4th! Thanks to all the men & women that serve to defend our country and make our fun weekends possible!

Spring Break

Our Spring Break is coming to an end, *tear* and we had a fabulous time! We just relaxed the first part of the week. It was beautiful, so we took many walks to see the ducks, played outside and worked in the yard. Tuesday we had Emme's 9 month well check, which went off pretty uneventfully. On Thursday, Tiffany, JC & Hailey came for a visit. We just hung out Thursday evening after Tiff & I went for a quick visit with some KDs that live in Houston. Then we went to eat. Friday was beach day. Aaron couldn't get off, so I braved taking both kids to the beach by myself -except that I was not by myself. Tiff, JC & Juliet were a tremendous help! The kids had a blast - I had a blast!

**WARNING: Lots of pictures - some stolen from Tiffany!**

I'm so sad to see Spring Break come to an end. Back to the grind tomorrow, but if this is any indication of what summer will be like, I'm in! 9 more weeks of school! Whoo hoo!

Ketchup Post -- it's a long one!

It's been about a week since I posted last, so here is what we've been up to....

Wednesday we went to the beach with Gabby, Papa, Lynzi & Autumn. It was the girls last day in town and they were itching for the beach. We didn't get there until about 3pm and by the time we ate a late lunch, we didn't get to the actual beach until aroun d 4pm. It was sort of cloudy and with the breeze off the ocean, it was very pleasant! Jackson had a BLAST! This was his 2nd trip to the beach, but it was the first where the water was warm enough to swim. Aaron took him way out and let the waves crash on him...he kept signing for more, so he must have enjoyed it!
This is one of my favorite pictures.

Papa got conned into going deeper than he had intended.

The "big" kids (including Aaron) had a sand castle contest. Jackson tried to help.

How Emme spent part of her first trip to the beach....

....how she spent the other half
Friday we met friends at the roller rink for Mommy & Me Skate. Jackson had more fun just watching the big kids on skates than he did on his push toy. Emerson slept in her stroller as we followed Jackson around to make sure he didn't steal a Razor skooter he was eyeing.
Bath time pics...

He loves to show off by putting his face in the water. This was immediately afterwards.
And after the kids go to bed, I have been playing at sewing a little. I have made Emerson 2 little outfits (below) and I'm working on 2 others right now. It's really fun!
