A Roarin' Good Time

Jackson's 4th birthday party was November 19th and was held at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.  As most of you know, he is a dinosaur fanatic!  So naturally, we had a dinosaur party.  I posted pics of the invites on Facebook, but here is another picture of them.  Giant dinosaur eggs that have to be cracked open to get the invitation out.  They were time consuming, but turned out pretty cute!

Gabriel made Jackson's cake again - he is fabulous!  LOVE him!  It was awesome!  I made the little volcano cupcakes and my mom made "fossil" cookies and dinosaur food (no-bake cookies).  It was an all dessert party, which goes against my being, but I just couldn't see hauling a bunch of food to the museum.

As the kids were coming in, there was a coloring activity and they were given a plaster mold of a dinosaur tooth to color also.  Then once everyone got there, we went to the exhibit hall to see the dino fossils and other exhibits.  The party coordinator, Mary, was so good with the kids.  I couldn't believe she could have 20 kids, ages 2-4 all engaged.  Amazing!

Then, we went back downstairs and she had the kids sit in a big semi-circle and she brought out some live animals for them to touch and she told a little about each of them.  There was a box turtle, which we learned is the state animal for 7 states.  Hrmmm?!?  Then there was a bearded dragon (which Jackson called a "Wizard" - he has a hard time with "L"s) and a rat snake.  The kids big puffy heart {{LOVED}} this!  It was so cute!

 Showing Mary their "petting fingers."

This is Jackson imitating a snake swallowing its prey whole.  This kid cracks me up!

Then it was cake time!  Mary and the other two girls served up everything, I did basically nothing and it was so lovely!

The next pictures are some Aaron's dad took:

 LOVE Denise's face here!

Love my sweet Chicken's face in both of these shots!

Today is Jackson's actual birthday and I will try and post about it soon!  Happy Birthday, my sweet little boy!  We love you so much and are so glad you enjoyed your dino party!
